Leadership Awards

The Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life annually hosts the Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Awards to recognize the accomplishments of our students and chapters. Awards are given out in the following categories:

Presidents’ Cup (Outstanding Chapter in each of the four councils)
Most Improved Chapter (one per council)
Outstanding Academic Programming
Outstanding Alumni/Parent Programming
Outstanding Community Service Programming
Outstanding Diversity and Inclusion Programming
Balfour-Beale New Member Education Award
Outstanding Philanthropic Programming
Outstanding Risk Management Programming
Outstanding Sexual Assault Prevention Programming
Program of the Year (chosen from all submissions)
Paragon Award (multiple awards could be given for initiatives that do not fit in any program category or something that deserves a higher level of recognition)
House Corporation Officer of the Year
Chapter Advisor of the Year
Distinguished Service to the Fraternity/Sorority Community

2024-2025 Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Awards

Award applications for the 2024-2025 Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Awards are now open! The 30th Annual Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Awards will be celebrated in person on May 7, 2025, at 7 PM. Attendance from chapter presidents and council governing boards is mandatory. The following awards will be presented:

Programming Award Applications Guidelines: Applications are due Sunday, March 30, by 5 PM EST. You are encouraged to answer questions in a Word document (template attached) and transfer your answers to the form when you are ready to submit so that you can keep your work. Each “essay” question has a limit of 5,000 characters; the form will not be submitted unless you are under that limit.

Any supporting documents should be uploaded when you submit your application. Only programs/events that occurred between April 15, 2024, and April 15, 2025, are eligible for consideration for the programming awards. Each chapter has the same timeline; therefore, we cannot grant extensions for any reason.

Selection Process: Finalists for the Programming Awards will be notified via email and meet individually with a judge for an interview about their efforts toward the program category. Interviews will take place between March 31 - April 15, 2025.

President’s Cup & Most Improved Chapter Awards: To be eligible for the President's Cup and Most Improved Chapter Awards, you must complete ALL Chapter Expectations program submissions and be submitted on Terplink by April 18. Any chapters that do not have chapter expectations program evaluations submitted by this point will be ineligible to win the President’s Cup award. You must also participate in the annual presentations, which will be held from April 1-3.

Selection Process: Each organization will complete an annual presentation. The annual presentation will be 15-20 minutes long, and each chapter will share highlights of the year. Instructions and a rubric for the presentations will be sent out later in the semester.

Kalegethos Society

Kalegethos is an elite and prestigious honor society that recognizes senior leaders of fraternities and sororities who have contributed exceptionally to fraternity and sorority life during their undergraduate careers. Applicants must write a brief personal statement sharing their experiences in fraternity and sorority life and why they should be recognized as members of the Kalegethos Society.
