Moving & Break Procedures

Fall 2025 Move-In Schedule

Chapter Leader Move-In (i.e., Chapter Presidents & House Managers): Wednesday, August 27 
General Resident Move-In: Thursday, August 28 & Friday, August 29
 

No Move-In on Saturday, August 30: Due to the UMD football game and increased campus foot traffic, move-in is strictly prohibited on this day.
Labor Day - University Closed: No university services will be available.

If you need to move in earlier than Thursday, August 28, please fill out the Early Move-In Request Form. You will hear from a member of our housing team to confirm if your request has been approved.

All Move-in, Move-out, and Holiday Break Procedures will be coordinated by the Resident Director/House Director with cooperation from the House Corporation and Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life policies and procedures. As you leave for Thanksgiving/Spring Break please make sure you have done the following:

  • Take out all trash, recycling, and compostable items to the appropriate outside receptacle.
  • Close and lock the windows in your room. 
  • Turn off all lights and set your AC Unit to Low.
  • Ensure you have your room key and UID so you will be able to get back in uneventfully upon your return. 
  • Unplug all unnecessary appliances (TVs, Clocks, Grooming appliances).
  • Check Dining Room Fridge (dispose of all produce and late plates).
  • Update your RD on when you are departing for the break.
