Fraternity & Sorority Housing

Home Fraternity & Sorority Housing

Fraternity and sorority housing at the University of Maryland offers a unique living experience for students who want to build strong connections within their chapters and the broader fraternity and sorority community. These environments provide opportunities for leadership development, academic support, and meaningful traditions while fostering a sense of belonging. Currently, the University of Maryland leases chapter houses on Fraternity Row and the Graham Cracker, and other chapters lease or own private residences in Old Town.

Currently, only chapters in the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Panhellenic Association (PHA) lease residential spaces from the university. The Agora, at #4 Fraternity Row, has been converted to a programming and meeting space for members of the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). Each chapter maintains its own requirements for members living in the chapter house and may ask that chapter members live in their house for at least one academic year during their membership. As you consider membership, we encourage you to discuss expectations for living in the chapter house, as well as the cost of room and board which is set by each chapter's House Corporation Board.

“We love celebrating each other's birthdays in the kitchen. We get fun decorations, cookies, cake, ice cream — it's the best time.”

“We tan, take photos, and play music out here all the time. It’s one of the most special parts about living in the house.”
