DFSL Giving Priorities

Our vision is of a community that lives by their values. Today, you have the opportunity to support these values. You can do so by supporting leadership programs that are offered through Fraternity and Sorority Life. You can also support individual chapters by giving to their scholarship or house funds. No matter how you choose to support Fraternity and Sorority Life, your gift today will ensure that we continue to instill these critical values in many generations to come.

The Agora

The University of Maryland is creating a space on Fraternity Row for student members of cultural interest fraternities and sororities to foster a more inclusive fraternity and sorority environment on campus. The Agora, which roughly means “gathering place” in ancient Greek, will be a non-residential space located at #4 Fraternity Row exclusively for undergraduate members of the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and their guests. Give a Gift to The Agora here.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Fraternities and sororities are unique in how they help students develop, identify, and clarify personal values. In order for our members to become the next generation of society’s leaders, they must acquire the knowledge, experience, and cultural competencies necessary to succeed in today's society. We believe there is no better place to hone those skills than in a fraternity and sorority. The Diversity and Inclusion Fund (D&IF) supports academic, chapter-specific, and community-wide programs and support staff that help chapters focus on fostering a more diverse and inclusive community. Greek Centennial Fund

The Greek Centennial Fund was established in 2013 to honor the 100th-year celebration of Greek Life on the University of Maryland campus. The Greek Centennial Fund assists the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life in providing leadership programs and services to members of the Greek Community. Through this fund, we are able to help members of the fraternity and sorority community enhance their student experience and prepare to serve as the nation’s leaders. Michael and Danielle Luzio Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Endowment

In November 2013, Michael Luzio ’98 and Danielle Luzio ’98 established an endowed fund to support fraternity and sorority leadership development programs in the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life in the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Maryland. The department utilizes funds in the Luzio Leadership Endowment to support programs and initiatives such as the Cultural Greek Leadership Conference and the Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Summit. Sexual Assault Prevention and Bystander Intervention Fund

Sexual Assault remains a national problem on college campuses. As campus leaders, members of fraternities and sororities have a duty to lead the movement in making campuses and chapters safer. The Sexual Assault Prevention Fund (SAPF) supports sexual assault prevention support staff and programs such as the Ten Terp Plan on Sexual Assault Prevention – a well-established and nationally recognized primary prevention program that focuses on changing the culture within our chapters so that all members act on their personal responsibility to prevent sexual assault. Chapter Scholarships and House Funds

Many of the fraternity and sorority chapters at the University of Maryland have Scholarship Funds, Programming Funds, or Chapter House Funds that have been set up by alumni and friends of the organization. You can view a complete list of opportunities to give to Fraternity and Sorority Life by visiting the Office of Development and External Relations.
